I've been attending for the past year, car meets for the first time in my life, frankly I have not been missing anything. All that's going on is a bunch of standing around and random bullshit. "Yo man, my car can't make it out because my rims are being powdercoated" or "my stage one jdm turbo is being rebuilt wait till then." A lot of these people attending these meets are in it to get props from a bunch of dudes for the satisfaction that people accept them. A lot's lost in the car world, no longer is it the good old days, when a select few of you are in it for the passion. It was much harder 10 years and back, to even see a car meet of your same car make let alone just a get together. You had to do your research and know. Now its so much more simple, log onto your forum, take pictures of your stock car to get approval from all the other losers posting 12,000+ post to praise you. Even assholes with Nissan Maximas and Altimas have these corny meets. What happened to the passion? Everyone's just following.

Glad we dont have this problem were i'm from. We started our meets about 7 years ago, & we all became close friends because of it...& we still have meets, even though some of us our married with children.
Yea, its different when you and the people you are meeting are close friends. I wish I caught the era of authentic meets.
I haven't been to a meet in years. One reason was people were amused by how low the other car is that was parked next to me. The damn thing was on stock rims, with cut springs and nothing else. So much for the "scene". Kinda like stock s2000's showing up at an event like doughnuts & coffee and taking up space.
There are a lot of people that show up in stock cars and blast them with vinyl all over.
